Let’s march for our lives

We woke up yesterday morning to the wrenching news of yet another school shooting. Student Mollie Davis tweeted:

Hi Twitter. I am in Great Mills HS. My school is on a very real lockdown threat and there’s already someone possibly dead. Please pray for us.

Our lawmakers are in thrall to the gun manufacturer’s lobby – a group that no longer even pretends to represent the interests of responsible gun owners. In particular, an overwhelming majority of Americans support background checks. Yet the NRA and their puppets in Congress allow the killings to go on.

Thanks in large part to the courageous teenagers who survived the massacre in Parkland, Florida, though, it finally feels as if change is possible.

ONE THING YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW

Instead of crying we are speaking. Instead of mourning we are protesting. And instead of waiting, the youth across the Bay Area are making our voices heard about gun violence.
